The Telemedicine and Quadrivalent Seasonal Influenza Vaccine Service are subject to the terms and conditions of Union Medical Healthcare. In case of any disputes regarding the services, the decision of Union Medical Healthcare shall be final and binding.

Telemedicine and Quadrivalent Seasonal Influenza Vaccine Service are provided by Union Medical Healthcare. Bowtie shall not be liable for any liability arising from these services or other services provided by Union Medical Healthcare and its underlying service quality.

Telemedicine service is only for mild and non-urgent medical conditions. The use of video technology to deliver healthcare and educational services is a new technology and may not be equivalent to direct patient to physician contact.

Is there an age limit to purchasing this membership?

Anyone who is within the age range of 8-80 is eligible to apply.

Is there any age limit for using VDoctor’s general practitioner telemedicine consultation?

Minimum recommended age is 8 years old. For any patient under the age of 18, the patient shall be accompanied by his/her parent or guardian during the consultation. The parent or guardian shall also provide personal information for registration purpose.

Is this an insurance product?

No.

What is the standard price for a general practitioner consultation if I am not a 3Care BowtieGo VDoctor member?

The standard price starts at $480, delivery and extra medication could vary the fee.

How to use

How can I activate BowtieGo Vdoctor?

You will receive an SMS or email from 3HK which will provide the activation code. You may visit https://3care.com.hk/bowtiego/activate-vdoctor-en and click the “Activate Now” button. Enter the activation code and personal information in order to activate BowtieGo VDoctor. Bowtie will then send you a VDoctor code via email for appointment use.

How to make a reservation for the Telemedicine consultation?

  1. Please call Union Medical Healthcare's telemedicine customer service hotline 21528510 to make an appointment.
  2. Submit personal information and sign the service agreement online. Customers must present a valid VDoctor code to use this service. If the Customer is under the age of 18, the patient’s parent or guardian shall provide his/her personal information for registration and shall be present during the consultation.
  3. Pay the service fees (if any) online.
  4. You are not required to download any software or mobile application to use the service.
  5. Wait for the doctor to start the consultation. Customers will need to use a smartphone or device with a camera for this service. The consultation time for each session is approximately 15-20 minutes. If you cannot be reached within 15 minutes after the designated appointment time, it will be considered as a forfeiture of the consultation and no refund will be given.
  6. If medication is required after consultation, the prescribed medicine, sick leave certificate (if applicable) and receipt (if required) will be sent to your registered delivery address by courier. Please note that medicine requiring refrigeration would not be arranged for delivery. If the consultation and prescription of medicine have been completed before 6:00 pm, delivery would be arranged on the same day. If not, delivery would be arranged on the next working day. Some remote destinations (including the Islands District) may not be scheduled for same day delivery, please consult the healthcare service providers.
  7. The service time of Telemedicine Consultation is from Monday to Friday 9:30 am to 12:30pm, 2:30pm to 5pm and Saturday from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. There may be changes to the service time without prior notice, please call the customer service hotline and reserve in advance.
  8. Telemedicine consultation involves the use of audio, video or other electronic communications to interact with you, consult with your healthcare provider and/or review your medical information for the purpose of diagnosis, therapy, follow-up and/or education. It allows you to receive medical services that may otherwise require you to travel long distances. The use of video technology to deliver healthcare and educational services is a new technology and may not be equivalent to direct patient to physician contact.

What information do I need to provide for booking?

During the call, the customer service representative will ask for the following information:
  • Full name (as appeared on HKID or travel document)
  • Contact number
  • Reason for appointment (e.g. symptoms, medical history and medications)
  • VDoctor code
Following the call, you will receive a form from UMH whereby you will need to submit the following information:
  • Full English and Chinese name
  • HKID number / Passport number
  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Body temperature
  • Weight, allergies, G6PD deficiencies (only applicable for paediatric cases)
  • Name, contact number and email address of family member / guardian
  • Email Address
  • Name of recipient for the medication
  • Documents needed eg. sick leave certificate / receipt (with doctor's signature)

How do I get the medicine if the doctor prescribes medicine?

After the Telemedicine consultation is over, the nurse will contact you to arrange a drug delivery service. There is no extra charge for the delivery service.

When will my medication be delivered?

Monday to Friday
  • consultation before 6 pm – 2 hours delivery
  • consultation after 6 pm – next day delivery
Saturday
  • consultation before 1 pm – same day delivery
  • consultation after 1pm – next Monday
Please note that some remote destinations (including the Islands District) may not be scheduled for same day delivery.

What payment method is accepted for settling the Telemedicine consultation fee and extra medication fee (if any)?

Can I appoint a 3rd party to get the medicine on my behalf?

A patient can appoint a 3rd party to receive the medicine on his behalf after the telemedicine consultation. The assigned 3rd party must show to the courier the delivery code given by the nurse.

How will I receive instructions on my prescribed medicine?

Instructions on how to take any prescribed medications will be stated on the packaging of the medications. Communications and instructions will also be made available by a registered nurse via WhatsApp.

How can I get an official receipt or sick leave certificate for the consultation?

Receipt and sick leave certificate (if clinically indicated) will be provided after consultation either by delivery or mail.

Can I get a refund if I cancel my appointment?

Once the appointment is confirmed after payment, we do not accept cancellation, rescheduling, transfer or refund unless it is deemed clinically not suitable to continue.

If I fail to attend the Telemedicine consultation at the scheduled time, can I get the refund?

No. If you fail to attend at the scheduled time (after 3 attempts to connect with you), we will NOT refund for payment paid and will under no circumstances be liable for the costs or expenses arising therefrom or any impact on your medical condition.

How do I redeem my Influenza Vaccine Service?

  1. Please call customer service hotline 2156 5893 to make an appointment, and the service shall be redeemed prior to 30 June 2021.
  2. Customer can transfer this redemption code to any third party.
  3. Upon using this service, Customer must present a valid identification documents for registration at the service centre.
  4. Customer must present a valid Redemption QR Code (shown in this email) to use this service.
  5. Please book in advance as the service is on a first-come, first-served basis.

If the doctor is unable to diagnose or the medical condition requires a follow-up consultation in person, what should I do?

If the doctor confirms that the patient requires further check-up, after the end of the consultation, a nurse from the service provider will arrange a follow-up consultation on the same day at the doctor's clinic in person.

If I have to change the reservation of the Telemedicine consultation, when should I notify UMH?

You will have to make a request to UMH 24 hours before the scheduled consultation.

What should I do if I encounter problems when using the Telemedicine consultation service?

UMH will arrange a service specialist to contact you before the Telemedicine consultation to ensure that the webcam and microphone are operating normally. If you have other problems during the Telemedicine consultation, please call the UMH service hotline 21528510 immediately and we will follow up immediately.

Is the Telemedicine consultation reliable?

With the development of technology, telemedicine consultation has gradually become popular and mature in foreign countries, allowing patients to reduce the burden of travel. In Hong Kong, public and private organizations have also launched related services in recent years.

UMH provides professionally educated and qualified registered doctors to offer consultation service, so that you can get appropriate advice and treatment at home. The information you provide during the process is only used for Telemedicine consultation and is strictly confidential.

Is Telemedicine consultation suitable for me?

Telemedicine consultation is only suitable for patients with mild symptoms and non-emergency situations. If your condition is more complicated or serious and requires detailed evaluation and diagnosis, please use UMH's in-person doctor appointment service. If the situation is critical, please call 999 immediately or go to the Accident and Emergency Department for treatment.

Can I use the vouchers under Elderly Health Care Voucher Pilot Scheme?

No, we only accept direct payment.
